Care Ethics and the Production of Racial and Moral ‘Others’ in Institutional Life

My work is concerned with the study of comparative discourses and practices of citizenship, structural inequalities in public institutions and institutional racism in Britain and Germany.

My current project explores the effects on growing ethnic and religious diversity and population ageing on institutional life in Germany, particularly on the delivery of care for older people. An analytical focus on care ethics thereby enables the analysis of structural mechanisms that may sustain exclusive practices.
