Adela Taleb schloss ihr Studium an der School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, mit einem M.A. in Near and Middle Eastern Studies ab. Zuvor studierte sie Religionswissenschaft, Politikwissenschaft und Anthropologie and der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU). In ihrer Dissertation verschiebt sie ihren Regionalfokus vom MENA Raum nach Europa, wobei sie ihr Forschungsinteresse hinsichtlich moderner Entwicklungen im Islam, sowie Postkolonialer und Kritischer Theorie fortführt
M.A. Thesis:
"Challenging Orientalism, (re)envisioning femininity? Shirin Neshat’s "Women of Allah" series and the representation of 'the Muslim woman'."

Das Dissertationsprojekt befasst sich mit der Formation des “Europäischen Islam” aus diskursanalytischer Perspektive. Hierbei werden insbesondere Subjektivierungsprozesse, sowie Machtinstrumente und Normsetzungsmechanismen im Bezug auf “Islam” und “Europa” genauer betrachtet.
