Decolonising Knowledge: Theory and Practice

It is our great pleasure and honor to announce a special session/lecture with discussion in the framework of our seminary on “Theories and Methods”.  Prof. Syed Farid Alatas and Dr. Leon Moosavi (both based in Singapore) will present and discuss on the topic:

"Decolonising Knowledge: Theory and Practice"

Tuesday, 8th of February 2022, between 2 pm and 4 pm (Online, Berlin local time)

 

Both scholars are world-wide leading intellectual figures in this field.

Prof. Dr. Syed Farid Alatas, a Malaysian national, is a Professor of Sociology at the National University of Singapore. His areas of interest are historical sociology, the sociology of social science, the sociology of religion, and inter-religious dialogue.

Dr. Leon Moosavi is Senior Lecturer in Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology and Director of the University of Liverpool in Singapore. His research expertise relates to: the sociology of race, ethnicity and migration; the sociology of religion; and coloniality/decoloniality.

Please note: The session will be hold online via webex and is open to any interested scholar and student.
