Forum Transregionale Studien: Europe in the Middle East - The Middle East in Europe (EUME)

Die Leitidee von Europa im Nahen Osten – der Nahe Osten in Europa (EUME) ist die Erforschung der politischen, sozialen, religiösen und kulturellen Verflechtungen zwischen Europa und dem Nahen Osten in Geschichte und Gegenwart. EUME wurde 2006 als gemeinsames Forschungsprogramm der Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, der Fritz Thyssen Stiftung und des Wissenschaftskollegs zu Berlin begründet. Das Programm steht in der Tradition des von 1996 bis 2006 am Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin angesiedelten Arbeitskreises Moderne und Islam (AKMI). Seit 2011 wird EUME am Forum Transregionale Studien weitergeführt. Von 2009 bis 2019 waren EUME-Fellows an der BGSMCS assoziiert.
