"Affective Regimes in Turkey and Beyond" - Keynote lecture by Yael Navaro
The talk studies the political incitement to nationalistically oriented affects, as well as the discouragement and criminalisation of non-nationalist affects in contemporary Turkey. It explores how the affects have become a central component of governance.
Yael Navaro is Reader at the Dejpartment of Social Anthropology and Fellow and Director of Studies at the Newnham College at the University of Cambridge.
