Our alumnus Philip Bockholt was awarded the 2019 Classical Islamic World Book Prize. Based on the decision of an internationally renowned panel of scholars, the prize recognises up to three outstanding monographs by early-career researchers to the academic study of the classical Islamic world.

Bockholt's PhD thesis on Iranian world history writing in the 15th century will be published as a book later in 2020.
