Protecting the Sacred Nature of Dersim: Environmental Activism at the Margins

My research explores the multilayered dynamics of environmental activism in Dersim (Tunceli with its Turkified official name), a Kurdish-Alevi populated city in Eastern Turkey, against the commoditization of the sacred nature in line with the AKP government’s market-friendly neoliberal policies and Sunni-inclined tendencies.
