In her keynote, Ann Laura Stoler, professor of anthropology and history at the New School for Social Research in New York, picked up the concept of Johann Gottlieb Fichte's "inner boundaries" to explore contemporary identity politics as well as their inclusive and marginal consequences.
Gudrun Krämer, Director of the Graduate School, as well as Hanna Nieber and Iskandar Ahmad Abdalla, doctoral students of the Graduate School, talked about the history and perspectives of the Graduate School.
The welcome address was delivered by Professor Brigitta Schütt, Vice President of Freie Universität; Hansjörg Dilger, Professor of Social and Cultural Anthropology and Deputy Director of the Graduate School moderated the event. The anniversary celebration took place in the Institute for Cultural Inquiry (ICI) Berlin.
